Someone recently informed me that the length of a blog post is inversely proportional to the number of comments I receive on said blog post.
Let's put that to the test:
HI!
(I suspect this post is already too long...oy...)

you're right the number of comments are inversely proportional to the length of your post
I think the number of comments is more closely linked to the topic of the post... blogging about your love life gives us much more interesting ammo.
I would have to agree with anonymous #2, it's kind of like rubber-necking, everyone slows down to check out a terrible accident even though we know it's wrong :)
not saying your love life is an accident, just a fender bender
well im in disagreement her lovelife is interestin but its her relationship wit her mom when she talks abut it to her
thts way more intrestin
I'm gonna add a contribution the the theory... :D
I've found that asking for comments is a surefire way to get none at all. But, then again, I may just be an outlier.
I suppose I should also mention that I have comment-envy.
I agree with you but that's why I consider it a pleasant thought. It's a horrible reality because, well - it doesn't happen like that. It's all of the matrimonial - mom trying to set you up with Mr. Void of Personality from Harvard. You know?
saalams Sabila :D
I love your long and shorts musings...however i am more inclined to read the short ones when im in a hurry :D
write on.
I was just thinking the same thing! I posted a one liner and got 16 comments! Write a couple of paragraphs and people suffer from ADD, I got only 5 comments on my latest.
People read at work so I guess they have to read quickly?
I feel compelled to comment just because I want to skew the data. Please note this in your test results.
Margin of error: +/-1
This comment intentionally left [not-so-]blank :-D
you say hi
i say bye!
If a blog falls in the forest and there's no one to read it would it have comments?
Interesting
theory
;P
hey I thought length didn't matter just girth

I figured the last 19 comments were getting pretty lonely... so I thought I'd drop by :)
