'Tis a very strange and lovely time to eat, pray, and reflect and although the 15th day of Ramadan always ends up feeling more like day 1,356,889 of Ramadan, the thought that the month is close to wrapping up makes me sad.

Sabila- I agree; but sometimes (especially for single people like me who live on their own and work crazy hours, one sometimes loses perspective on what the month is for).

Out of curiousity (and no needling/offence meant!), do you ever gain weight in Ramadan? I always seem to put on a few pounds (and then struggle for the next 6 months to get rid of them) even though I eat reasonably well. Maybe my metabolism just slows down..

Totally unrelated, but have you tried yoga? It could really help with your hip problem and all that... been meaning to suggest it for a while.

AJ:

I eat reasonably well during Ramadan as well (unlike a lot of other people I know who tend to gorge between Iftaar and Suhoor) but I agree that one's metabolism gets totally screwed up during the holy month.

Anonymous: I think I'm going to have to take up yoga and pilates very soon. I've taken a handful of classes of each here and there, but am not the most graceful or devout practitioner of the disciplines.
