I NEED A CURE FOR THE BLUES...

...or, at least, a valid reason to feel sad...seriously.
Oh yah, 10 days to my birthday.
Whatever.
And I'm not going to post a pic here.
I hate those yellow sad faces as much as I hate the smiley ones.
Though I wonder what would be the perfect image for a blog about unexplainable sadness.
Any suggestions?
I, myself, will sleep on it.

I think it would be something from Mark Rothko, the picture you seek... Well, it's freeze-your-nipples-off cold here in Blighty (London), but has been sunny at least, but still, these temps just make you want to hibernate & eat carbs/sugar. How's the weather in New York? Could it be the weather givin you the blues?

Hiya Rich,
I dunno. Rothko's never done it for me.
It's freezing cold over here too...like I'm standing in a freezer cold. I usually heart winter but this is kinda getting old kinda quickly, this year, ya know?
I've never had the seasonal affective disorder. I think I'm just feeling the 27 coming on. I've never been one to gripe about age, but I'm feeling rather over the hill, maybe.
Sorry I haven't responded to you about LAD literature. I do think that you need to narrow down what your calling lad literature. There's an array of subgenres falling under lad literature and you could, realistically, focus on any one of them...that being said, lad lit is something of a failed publishing endeavor, fyi.

Oh, thanks, babe, but I've ditched the Lad Lit in favour of the fin de siecle dandy in relation to our modern metrosexual character. Have you looked at Mark Rothko 'live', so to speak? You can't just observe prints online -- for when I stand in the Mark Rothko room at the Tate Modern, language is arrested, and I am filled with a perceptible warmth that the colours emit -- like being in an artistic womb or something. Quite amazing. But if not Rothko, how about something Wyeth, like 'Christina's World'? I've always liked that one.

You hope I have a bad? I don't get it. I don't want a bad. I don't want anyone to have a bad. Who is this, by the way? :)

What kinda guy wishes someone a "Bad?" I am assuming whoever it is means "Big Ass Day" or BirthDay or some other weird acronym...In any case...Have a wonderful, prosperous, and glorious Birthday Sabila!!!May this upcoming year truly be a vintage year! All the best Always!
