FYI

Note to all past, present and future objects of my affection: it's very likely that you will never see this Nerd's funny, charming, witty, intelligent and eloquent side. Instead, I am reduced to a silly, blabbering, blushing, inarticulate idiot for whom English might as well be a ninth language. You can almost hear my suddenly kamikaze brain cells taking a suicide plunge when I'm in your company. It's silly and ridiculous and likely means that I'll be alone forever. Which is fine. Just thought you should know that I'm a whole lot cooler when I'm not around you and your type...just an fyi...that's for your information...because I like informing...and reading...and stuff...AHEM...I'll go now.

It seems likely to me that our fashionable and "mean-boned" nerd was inspired to write this revealing portrait of the kamikaze effect of being such a romantic at heart after having recently met, and perhaps fallen for, one such object of her affection, no? Is SabilaK madly in love? Do tell ...

I'll vouch for the smarty talky stuff, but it may not mean much coming from a crazy like me!

me thinks, we (as in your readers) like you just the way you are!

Interesting. I understand. I'm funny, charming, witty, intelligent and eloquent almost all the time, but when it involves someone I'm attracted to, I too am prone to making silly mistakes. Kind of like A-Rod at third base. Or in the batter's box during the playoffs. But I digress.

Back from business in DC where I got into a near-shouting contest with a war protester only because their group was protesting near Arlington Cemetery,

What if we find silly, blabbering, blushing, inarticulate idiots attractive?

Passion: There's no water to soften the fall, sadly. It all ends with a splat...

Parasailer: Nah, I don't have a crush. Ahem ahem.

Shirley's got my back.

Terra: Readers who love me just the way I am! And here I thought you all hated my guts. Phew.
Thanks Terra, you're a dear.

nWe: Seriously, do I know you? Can you give me a clue? We've met? Really? And then you googled me??
I like protesters. I wish they'd vote but I still like them.

King: The royal we teases. Sadly, the blabbering, blushing, social awkwardness only seems to act as a love repellent. It totally cramps my style.

King: So sorry I couldn't make it to your party, by the way! It was the bro's birthday! Was there a whole lotta coffee served??

I don't mind protesters either. I believe in their rights. I just think they should stay away from places where soldiers who died for our country are buried.

Wait a minute. My new stalker is literally a neighbor? Yikes?

Unfortunately, as I feared, the dreaded "s" word has come into play. Unavoidable, I guess, considering the circumstances. It is what it is.

No need for yikes. Just trying to find a creative way to communicate, other than by sheer blue moon happenstance. Sorry to freak you out.

I'll go play golf now (well, tomorrow, anyway).

I kid. And I use the term stalker very loosely.

Oh good. 'Cuz I was thinking about typing an affirmative defense in the nature of, "Well perhaps you shouldn't be so quick as to inform other weekend gym rats minding their own business as they torture themselves at the benchpress about your potential wardrobe malfunctions".

But I guess I'll save that one for another time. ;-)

Indeed, much coffee was served. It was a perfect opportunity for you to exercise your blabbering, blushing, social awkwardness. Never fear, there will be more gatherings where you can come and be inarticulate.

Nerd - I love the blog - but this entry endeared you even more to me - as I am exactly that girl. Super cool and awesome, and then a complete moron that finds the most idiotic things coming out of her mouth when around cute/potential guys(I once asked a guy, "Where do you summer?" As if I myself were Martha Stewart and summered in the Hamptons... argh, thinking about it now still makes me cringe) Lots of love and energy your way - Alia
