HEY MOM, DAD: MEET MP!

To all the naysayers out there who think that MP is a fictitious character on this blog, bugger off, please. Anyone who knows me in real life knows that he's the real deal. Five people who are very dear to me have already met him and most of them wholeheartedly approve (MP and I randomly ran into the fifth dear as he walked his dog on the streets of the West Village last night. It was so gloriously random. I recognized my friend's dog--who's looking super svelte these days, by the way--and blurted out my friend's name! Luckily, it was said friend, who looked a bit shell shocked to see us standing before him. In any case, I don't know whether he was in MP's company long enough to actually give me a thumbs up but we so must discuss later!).

The brothers loved him. My mother already loves him. Since most of the family is on board, we're going to break the news of MP being the real deal to my father (gulp) today. I gulp because MP isn't of South Asian and Muslim heritage. I should give my dad, who happens to be a very intelligent, openminded, and progressive person, the benefit of the doubt but I'm pretty worried. In any case, if all goes well, MP will be sitting down to dinner with the Khan clan next Sunday.

I promise I'll keep you posted, kittens.

I think any father would be apprehensive of a new guy in his daughter's life, regardless of heritage. Hope it went well though.

I can't wait to hear more! This is so cool... like You've Got Mail, but better. You've Got Comments, perhaps. Whatever. It must be turned into a movie. And you have to write the script.

And as DC girl says... Wow :)

"You've got comments" very cute remark.

Sabila, I'm thinking of you today and hoping all goes well.

I feel sorry for your parents. The sins of the child will be on their heads. (and for those who start ranting against this/take issue, read more about Islam. If you belive in the religion, you'll know a muslim woman can't marry a non-muslim man. Then again, if you don't give a f***, then stuff it. Who cares what religion says, right Sabila? Hope you feel comfortable in sacrificing your parents to hell so you can get a non-muslim dick in your twat.

hey anon Asshole. Fuck you. That is really disturbing that you would be such an ass to a nice girl who is clearly confused and desperate. If you had a sister would you talk to her like that. No. Think about the hurtful things you say in such a cowardly manner. People like you suck and thats all.

Sabila. Live you life as you are entitled to do, and i am sure you realize the implications of your actions and dont care, but alot of people can be hurt by them.

best of luck

A couple things before I am off in my merry way. What is MP's nationality? I have read your blog and you never mentioned it.

You do know that he has to convert into Islam in order to marry you?

Read up on Islam there is so many reasons why dating is haram, some that will astonish you. So many reasons that will save you heartache.

Listen to your elderlies many times love grows after marriage not before marriage...

that anon is a sad loser who probably a tabliq i jamat jerk who probably surf porn on the internet while preaching to people he does not even know. Sad.

Sabila. Be careful think of your future and be honest with yourself and this dude. Hurt feelings are no good and can have a lasting effect.

Feel free not to answer, but why are your parents involved so soon after meeting this guy. esp since you have so many cultural issues. I mean even with ghoras its typical that parents dont event meet significant others for months. Any way like tupac said "keep ya head up" and while some other person already quoted it like justin bobby said "time and truth tells all"

To all the haters. if you honestly cared about this girl you would stop being hostile and try and at least make a honest argument that might resonate.

BTW- Where is that defense auntie. She was always good for a laugh.

Wow, I guess these days an "honest argument" isn't considered an "honest argument." What is an honest argument other anonymous? Just remember when in doubt the sky is blue, the grass is green, and there is only one God.

Take Care

You know I think there is more perks to not dating than to dating. It is funny how the world trys to balance out...
